قدّمت دودج نسخة “تشالنجر موبار دراغ باك” لعام 2016 هذه السيارة مزودة بمحرك فائق الشحن (توربوشارجد) وهي مخصصة ومعدلة  لسباقات الدراغ. وسيتم تقديم هذه السيارة رسميا وعرضها للبيع ابتداء من 23 يوليو/ تموز 2016 .

سيتمكن الراغبون بشراء “دودج تشالنجر موبار دراغ باك ” من الاختيار بين محركين: الأول: 354 انش كيوبيك سوبرشارجد هيمي الجيل الثالث هذا المحرك مصنوع من الحديد المصفح والصلب وتم تغيير معاييره للملائمة مع متطلبات سيارات الدراغ. هذا المحرك يأتي بسعة 2.9 ليتر من 8 اسطوانات مع توربو.

Remaining true to its performance roots, the Mopar brand unveiled the next-generation Mopar Dodge Challenger Drag Pak, a factory-prepped package car specifically geared for drag racing. The vehicle is built on the Dodge Challenger platform and comes in two options. The vehicle pictured is the version with the brand’s first ever offering of a supercharged 354 cubic inch Gen III HEMI® engine.

أما المحرك الثاني فيعمل  بالسحب الطبيعي تحت اسم 426 انش كيوبيك هيمي الجيل الثالث فهو مصنوع ككتلة من الألومنيوم من انتاج فرع موبار أما الأنابيب فمصنوعة من الصلب ورؤوس الصبابات مصنوعة من الألومنيوم. مثل المحرك الأول ، تم تغيير معاييره للملائمة مع متطلبات سيارات الدراغ. وكلا المحركين متصلان بعلبة تروس أوتوماتيكية معدلة. هذا المحرك يأتي بسعة 7.0 ليتر من 8 اسطوانات بقوة تتخطى ال 600 حصان. ولكن لم تصدر دودج بعد أي أرقام رسمية عن اي من المحركين.

نظام التعليق الأمامي الرياضي المخصص ل “دودج تشالنجر موبار دراغ باك ” مصنوع على أساس هندسة فريدة من نوعها، مع ضغط للتعديل المزدوج وتبديل الدعامات. في الخلف جهاز التعليق يتألف من أربع نقاط التقاط ومبني على أساس هندسة ثورية تقوم على محاور عجلات بسمك  4 بوصات من الصلب مع 9 بوصة من الألمنيوم لمحور الوصل، كما ان جهاز التعليق في الخلف قابل للتعديل.

في الداخل تستند المقصورة الداخلية في “دودج تشالنجر موبار دراغ باك “على مقصورة تشالنجر اس ار تي، ولكن مع اضافة كل المعدات اللازمة لسباقات الدراغ مثل المقاعد الأمامية المخصصة لسيارات السباقات مع الحزام المثبت بخمس نقاط التقاء، وشبكات الأمان، وأقفاص التقوية والدعم بالاضافة الى مفاتيح إضافية وأجهزة القياس من موبار المثبتة على لوحة القيادة.

اما من الخارج فتظهر جليا العضلات الرياضية وسمة سيارات الدراغ من فتحة الهواء الكبيرة على غطاء المحرك الى المقدمة الشرسة والأطارات الضخمة (30 / 9 بوصات) مع العجلات الخاصة بالدراغ بقياس 15 بوصة. كما تتميز بلون الطلاء الأبيض الخاص.
